Haibike SDURO HardNine 2.5 Street Electric Bike
The Haibike SDURO HardNine 2.5 Street is a hybrid with presence. Its 29 inch mountain bike wheels mean that you can bounce along light trails and tracks but its main role is tackling the city streets on errands and commutes. With lights wired into the main battery you can use this year round in whatever the weather.
SDURO vs XDURO
In recent years Haibike have decided to make it easy for the rider to choose between its lines of electric bikes. The XDURO series is for people who take riding seriously and wonâ™t want to be left out in the rankings. Meanwhile the SDURO series is for those who may still be fit as a fiddle but are more weekend mud warriors than people who eat, sleep and breathe riding.
HardSeven vs HardNine
What size wheel do you prefer? The 27.5â wheel can handle tricky trails better while the 29â wheel is more of a cross country purist. Simply, the HardNine is the 29er and the HardSeven is the 27.5â wheeled electric mountain bike.
Whoâ™s this for?
You will be someone who wants to ride regularly in different lighting and weather conditions. While it wonâ™t struggle off-road the electric hybrid bike is very happy on road – perhaps as you negotiate some shortcuts on your way to work or on family rides through the woods. With its 29 inch wheels it will chew up the miles in great comfort.
Tell me more!
As a 29er the SDURO HardNine 2.5 Street has long legs and loves a good run. Its Shimano Deore M6000 10 speed gearing system runs over an 11-42 tooth cassette which allows for a great range of ratios that will help you defeat many a hill that might have defeated you on a traditional mountain bike.
The SR Suntour XCM ATB forks have 100mm of travel that will soak up the bumps on your run, from potholes on the road to ruts in the track.
Speed control is achieved with Tektro M275 hydraulic brakes that use 180mm rotors on the front and rear wheel.
Some of the most important aspects of the bike is its street equipment. It has two full sized mudguards to prevent street muck from putting a line up your back, and a Trelock Bike – i Veo, 20 lux front headlight as well as a Herrmans H-Trace Mini LED light on the rear. These are powered by the main battery so as long as you have juice in the battery to get home you will be well lit for your journey.
400Wh battery, Yamaha PW-SE motor and Side Switch display
This bike comes with a Yamaha 400 watt hour battery that is ample for medium length rides where youâ™re not embarrassed to ask for the odd push of full power as you get about. Rechargeable in just a few hours, you can plug it in in the evening and have a full battery for your next day in the saddle.
The Yamaha PW-SE is a development on the tried and tested Yamaha PW motor and delivers just the power you need where and when you need it. Economical yet delivering just the right amount of power when you need it, this power system is perfect for road and trail alike.
The Yamaha Side Switch display is an LCD screen that shows all your parameters in one place so with just a quick glance you can see just what you want, be it battery life, power setting, speed or distance travelled. You control the power output of the motor with a flick of a switch from your right thumb.
